The September Luncheon will feature:

Dana Woodall, Chief Legal Officer of the Georgia Department of Labor

Dana Woodall was born and raised in Gwinnett County and is a graduate of South Gwinnett High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from The George Washington University and her Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina School of Law. She began her legal career as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia where she served from 2006-2010.  After returning to Georgia, she became an Assistant Solicitor for the City of Atlanta.  Dana then served as an Assistant Solicitor and Deputy Chief Solicitor General in the Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office where she prosecuted crimes including domestic violence, DUI, drug offenses, sexual battery, and theft. In her time with the Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office, she also served as the lead prosecutor for the Gwinnett County State Court Veteran’s Court and all other State Court accountability courts. 

After leaving prosecution, Dana was in private practice with Crawford & Boyle, LLC from 2019-2023. Her practice focused primarily on felony and misdemeanor criminal defense and she led the firm’s family law practice where she also served as a Guardian ad Litem for divorce, legitimation, and custody disputes. 

In January 2023, Dana was named Chief Legal Officer and Executive Counsel to the Commissioner of Labor at the Georgia Department of Labor.  In this role, she leads the agency’s legal team as they respond to a wide variety of legal issues involving the management of the agency, legislative issues, and the delivery of unemployment insurance services to the citizens of Georgia.  She also serves as the executive lead for GDOL’s newly formed prisoner reentry program that will provide occupational training, job placement, and wrap around services for over 400 citizens returning to the Metro Atlanta area from the Georgia Department of Corrections over the next four years.

When not practicing law, Dana enjoys spending time with her two sons, traveling whenever possible, and following Georgia politics.
